FSC Certified Bamboo Flooring

When you shop in stores, you might see FSC label. What is it for?

FSC is Forest Stewardship Council and FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests. So, FSC is for certifying of wood mainly.

Bamboo is a grass, so FSC label is NOT a must for bamboo flooring. Bamboo is renewable every 4 to 6 years. Bamboo has a high rate for the shoot, and shoot can grow up without anybody's management or take-care, after few years, the shoots are bamboo forest already. Not like wood, it will not reproduce after cutting.

Of course, we can get bamboo flooring, bamboo veneer and bamboo plywood FSC certified. First, we have to plant a bamboo forest under FSC guide and management, every bamboo has a sticker with its age, time-for-cutting. When bamboo is 4 to 6 years, we will cut them down for next production. After production, we will put a FSC label on the boxes and each label has a serial number, with this process, the bamboo flooring is FSC certified. But, price goes up extremely high than non-fsc certified bamboo flooring.

Third-party validation enables architects, designers, fabricators and consumers to know that the products they're using come from a source that is managed to high social and environmental standards. And our certified bamboo flooring and bamboo plywood qualify for the FSC Pure designation, as they are 100% FSC material from an FSC-certified forest and have been sold and/or processed by an FSC chain-of-custody certified company. This is not only a success for the forests and the farmers who grow our bamboo, it's a victory for everyone who believes in an environmentally responsible future.
